myYC is founded on what is called a "Multi-tenant" architecture. This means that myYC is a web-based system (it lives in the "cloud" and requires zero installation at your club) and each site hosted in myYC has it's own public screens (for competitors and the general public), private screens (for users granted access), and it's own set of security roles (members, web masters, registrars, race committee, etc.) for granting different levels of access to forms, sponsors, registration details, product catalog items, documents, and much more. Every page in a myYC site can be set as public or private, individual documents can be marked public or private, and even whole myYC sites can be public or private.

"Cloud" based architectures like myYC's are not a new idea. In fact the rise of this kind of system on the web closely parallels the old days when mainframe computers housed critical software and end users only needed "dumb" terminals. Clear advantages of this architecture are that clubs can easily add new sites for particular purposes at will, and all sites benefit from ongoing improvements to the core myYC software. myYC employs a mature security framework, and club information is backed up regularly.

myYC was conceived of and developed by ObjectFrame Technologies, Inc., a company with 20 years of experience developing large, web-based systems for companies like Xerox, Computer Sciences Corporation, and others. ObjectFrame has implemented, and been involved in the implementation of, a number of commercial, enterprise-level multi-tenant systems.
